NEW INN TENNIS CLUB

Last Wednesday night our 2nd Division team of Laura Heffernan, Eileen Hally, Rupert Butler & John Shanahan met Larkspur Park, Cashel in the league final. Despite a gallant effort it was not to be, losing out in a close contest. The following night our 3rd Division team of Ann Ryan, Marie Walsh, Sean Looby & John O’Dwyer were in action against Kilfeacle in the semi-final of the league. Having got off to a slow start they prevailed in the end and are now through to the final. Congrats to Sean Looby & John O’Dwyer who recently won the Men’s Doubles 6/7 title in Tipp County Open Week. Well done to Anna Downey who won u10 girls Doubles & was runner up in the u10 singles in Larkspur Park Junior Open Week recently. ROCKWELL ROVERS GAA CLUB

U14’s

Hard luck to our U14 A hurlers who were beaten by 5 points on Saturday 13 August against Clonouty Rossmore in Dundrum. Final score 3-3 to 3-8. It was a tough physical game and Rockwell gave their all. Craig O’Connell played a great game in defence along with Darragh Cambell. Sean O’Connell made some great saves especially in the second half. Man of the match goes to Liam Fahey who made some great scores.

U12’s HURLING SEMI-FINAL

Our U12’s had a very good win over Lattin Cullen last Monday night August 15. Rovers led by 5 points at half time 2-3 to 1-1. Thanks to a superb goal from Colm Moloney after being set up by Conor Walsh. Colm scored three points to add to a goal by Kevin Ryan. In the second half Rockwell were very much on top out scoring Lattin Cullen by 4 goals and three pts to no score. Kevin Ryan scored two more goals as did Ciaran McKenna with Colm wading in with two more points with Conor Walsh adding another point. Conor O’Brien was coolness personified in goal and well protected by Sean O’Connell, John Burke, Michael Kelly and Fergus English who all played their hearts out. Midfield was well controlled by Conor and Colm. Grainne Moloney and Mark Ryan did trojan work to set up goal chances for Kevin and Ciaran. Patrick Hickey slotted in seamlessly when brought on. Overall a very good team performance and we wish them all the best in the West Final.

U16’s HURLERS

Well done to our U16’s who drew with Rosegreen in Rosegreen last Monday night August 15. It was a tough game playing in such wet conditions. Final score was 1-11 to 3-5.
