The Self Help for Africa annual church gate collection will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Cahir, on Saturday and Sunday, January 14 and 15. Your support would be great.
Cahir Farmers Market will resume after the Christmas break on Saturday, January 14, in the Castle car park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cahir Country Market will reopen on Friday, January 13, from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. in the Community Hall. All are welcome to come and support our local producers.

The Active Retirement Christmas party and social will take place at Cahir House Hotel on Wednesday, February 15, at 2 p.m. Four course dinner with music and dancing. All members and guest are very welcome.
The group’s first meeting in the New Year was well attended with new members joining the ranks. May we give them a warm welcome and wish them many years of activities with our Association.
Chairperson Rose Acres gave her apologies for her absence and Mary Walsh took over the roll, swiftly taking control of the meeting. May we thank Mary for taking over the roll at short notice.
Our guest speaker Michelle Flanagan gave an excellent talk on the benefits of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. Michelle asked the members if they were interested in any particular remedies and a lively question and answer session took place.
Our chairperson thanked Michelle and the members for their participation and invited everyone to adjourn for tea and biscuits.
Monthly meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month, visitors and prospective members are welcome.
