NEW INN & DISTRICT VINTAGE & CLASSIC CLUB

Are having a charity run to Lismore this Sunday, October 21. Cars leaving Barron’s pub at 12noon. All proceeds in aid of Cashel girl, Ciara Casey and her family. Ciara is a three year old who suffers from a very rare illness. Entry fee €15. LAGGANSTOWN NATIONAL SCHOOL REUNION

A meeting will be held in the NICC tonight, Wednesday, October 17, at 8pm with a view to organising a reunion in the summer of 2013 for all past pupils of the school. We are trying to compile a list of all the past pupils as no written record exists. Anyone with info can contact Breda at 0874193648.

COMMUNITY ALERT

It has been decided to postpone the “Family Fun day” which was to be held on October 28. Instead, it has been decided to hold a table quiz on Friday, November 2, in Barron’s Pub at 8pm. Table of four €20. There will be a raffle and refreshments served and music afterwards.

HOSPICE MORNING

A reminder that the Hospice morning will take place this Saturday, October 20, in Barron’s Pub, New Inn from 11am to 2pm. Cookery demonstration on the day.

ROCKWELL ROVERS GAA CLUB

Table Quiz - Rockwell Rovers Juvenile club are holding a table quiz in Barron’s Pub, this Friday night, October 19, at 8pm. All are welcome. €10 per person and four per table. This is our only fundraiser this year and your support would be very much appreciated !

U21s - Hard luck to the U21 players who were beaten by a very strong Emly/Sean Treacy combo in Dundrum last Sunday, October 14, in the Ollie’s Bar West U21 Hurling championship. Rockwell/Rosegreen got off to a slow start with Emly/Sean Teacys leading 3-2 before Rovers registered their first score. Rockell Rovers/Rosegreen then grew into the game and were only trailing by a point at half time, 3-02 to 2-04. In the second half Rockwell/Rosegreen stayed manfully with the combo but as the game wore on, the Emly/Teacys team managed to put away from the very game Rovers Team. Final score 5-9 to 2-10.
