Carrick Swan minor hurlers lost to Moyle Rovers by three points in the South (A) semi-final in Kilsheelan last Saturday.
The Swan time gave a spirited performance but came up short against their opposition, who deserved their success.
Final score was 1-14 to 1-11.
The Club compliments the panel of players and team management on their commitment and effort throughout the year. Many of this panel will play with the U-21s in the second round of the championship.
Meanwhile, the Swan Club will host an U-12 hurling blitz on The Green at the weekend. All players will receive a timetable of games during the week.
Indoor training continues for many of the underage teams. The Club encourages all players to attend. New players are also welcome and parents are invited to call to the training centre at any time to meet team mentors.
Numbers drawn in last week’s juvenile lotto draw were 15, 16, 26 and 28. The jackpot prize of €5,250 wasn’t won and two players matched three numbers to win €100 each: Deborah Nolan, Castle Heights and Richie O’Neill, Mountain View.
Carrick Swan Club thanks all those who continue to play the lotto and reminds those who might like to join that weekly entry costs E2, which can be paid to any committee member or to lotto promoters, who will call to collect each week.
This week’s jackpot prize is E5,500. The public’s continued support helps the Club provide for all its juvenile players and is very much appreciated.
Carrick Swan Club extends its sympathy to the families of Tom Arrigan, Deerpark, Jim O’Keeffe, Greystone Street and Sean Organ, Ard Mhuire who died during the week.
