The Clancy Brothers Music & Arts Festival committee is issuing a call to the people of the town to do their bit to make next year’s festival a huge success.

The Committee’s annual general meeting takes place in the Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre in Carrick-on-Suir next Monday, October 22 at 7pm and it is inviting anyone interested in getting involved in next June’s weekend of celebrations to attend.

Clancy Festival Committee spokesperson Claire O’Regan said volunteering for the festival is a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all who participate.

“The Clancy Festival is a great opportunity for the community of Carrick-on-Suir and the surrounding areas to pull together and create a wonderful weekend for everyone to enjoy,” she said.

“This event is putting Carrick on the map and the fact that the wonderful Clancy Brothers were from the town is something to be proud of and celebrated.”

She recalled that this year’s festival that took place over the June Bank Holiday Weekend was a great success with sell out concerts at Brewery Lane and The Strand Theatre, a hugely popular arts trail, pub and street sessions, walking tours, fun history lessons at the Castle, and captivating theatre.
