The 3rd Tipp Brigade Old IRA Commemoration Mass for Dan Been will take place in Donohill this Sunday, January 6 at 2-I5 pm

Donohill village and its hinterland in the heart of West Tipperary was one of the most feared places in Ireland by British forces from the start of the War of Independence on January 21, 1919 to the Military Truce of July 1921.

On Sunday the sons and daughters of the region will join the members of the Third Tipperary Brigade Old IRA Commemoration Committee in Donohill Parish Church when the annual Anniversary Mass will be celebrated for Dan Breen and his comrades of the 3rd Tipp Brigade IRA.

The occasion in Donhill is also a cultural one where the songs of Ireland are sung in the two village Inns, stories told and Irish music played.

Mr Michael Maguire, Chairman of 3rd Tipp Brigade Old IRA Commemoration Committee, will preside at the ceremonies and deliver an oration at the grave of Dan Breen.
