Mitchelstown CBS fielded a rugby team for the first time on Wednesday when they travelled to Fermoy to play St. Colman’s. It was a good start for the CBS who were winners 30 – 5. Mitchelstown Branch PTAA will hold their annual Flag Day this Saturday. Funds raised will go towards promoting temperance among young and old in the parish and outlying areas. Congratulations to John Casey Mitchelscourt Mitchelstown who won E400 in the National Pioneer Draw in February.

The death occurred on February 28, at his residence Kilshanny, Mitchelstown of Kieran Crowley after a very long illness bravely borne. A native of Ballyclough, Mallow Kieran lived with his family in Kilshanny for many years. There was a large and represented attendance at the family home on Friday evening and also at the Requiem Mass on Saturday. Cremation took place at the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy. To his wife Anne (Nee Cogan), son David, daughters Maeve (Hayes), Claire (McEnally), sons in law John and Roger, sister Maureen (Downing), brothers in law, sisters in law, grandchildren Con, Eanna, Cathal, Amy, Sophie and Niamh, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends we tender sincere sympathy.
