OLD SCHOOL, THE COMMONS.

We are hosting a fieldtrip to the mine workings and collieries of interest in the area on Saturday 9 - Sunday 10 March. On this trip there will be a variety of features to see, including engine houses, historic buildings, shafts, and gantries and other 20th century installations. Underground access is expected to be possible at some locations, via mine inclines. Those expecting to go underground should bring appropriate clothing. Programme will take in The Commons, Gorteen, Earlshill, Mardyke and Lisnamrock Collieries, as well the isolated features Copper Steeple and Ballynunty Drainage Level. The trip begins at the Old Schoolhouse at 10am on Saturday and at Lickfinn colliery at 10.30am on Sunday. All are welcome. BALLINGARRY G.A.A.

On Saturday, March 9, in O’Sullivan Park, Ballingarry’s G.A.A. field, Tipperary and Kilkenny minor hurlers will play a challenge game at 3pm. Our own William Maher is again in charge of the Tipp Minors for 2013 with the hope and intention of winning back-to-back All-Ireland titles.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

Meeting will be held next Thursday, March 7, at 8pm in the upstairs room of the Sacristy. Please attend this meeting to sort out who is stepping down and to look at the rota. If anyone would like to volunteer to become a Eucharistic Minister please come to the meeting or give your name in to the Sacristy.

BALLINGARRY TIDY TOWNS

Would like to thank all those who collected Litter this week. We can supply disposable gloves, litter pickers and plastic bags. We are having a clean-up on Saturday morning, so all hands on deck please. The GAA Centre has undergone a major facelift. Well done to all concerned.
