Congratulations to Darragh Mooney, Moheragh, who celebrated his 21st birthday at Jerry Jack’s on Saturday last.


Big congratulations to Jim Carr, Cappawhite who has been selected for the Juvenile Ireland Soccer Squad and will travel to Italy next week where they will play England, Northern Ireland and San Marino to qualify in the U.E.F.A. Tournament. At 10 years of age Jim joined St. Michael’s Club in Tipperary Town where they helped and encouraged Jim to excel to this stage of his career. Now 24 this is a great honour for our Cappawhite man who is also a keen hurler.

Jim played in the Kennedy Cup South Tipperary u13s, two F.A.I. Junior Cup Finals where he received “Man of the Match” on both occasions; he also played in Tipperary Premier League, two-cup matchers. Best of luck Jim and the Irish Squad in Italy. Cappawhite can be very proud.


Cappawhite Community Alert are currently calling to all householders to sign up for the Text Alert System in Cappawhite & District. An application form is in place for all parishioners to sign up. A contribution from each household would be greatly appreciated to help in erecting new signs in the area. Applications forms can also be signed up at the Multeen Tourism Office, Main Street.


To the Cummins family, Clonbrick, to dad Tom, mam Annette, sisters Rebecca, Sinead and Blainaid, two grannys Mai and Anna, grandad P.J. of the late Clodagh aged 19 years who was interred in St. Michael’s cemetery Tipperary on Thursday 21st after requiem mass in Cappawhite Church attended by his Grace Archbishop Clifford. 12 days previously Clodagh had a car accident and after her courageous fight for life passed away on Sunday, February 17. The very large crowds at her home on the three days and her funeral mass showed her popularity. Michael Heffernan G.A.A. programme on Tipperary Mid West Radio paid tribute to Clodagh on behalf of the Ladies Football Team on Saturday morning last. To all her family, extended family and her very many young friends who mourn, sincere sympathy.

U16 Ladies Football - Cappawhite played the first round of the U16 championship on Saturday evening last under lights at Cappawhite.

Great credit is due all players for providing a good open free flowing game of football.

A minutes silence was observed before the game for Clodagh Cummins, a Cappawhite senior player, who passed away recently as a result of a car accident. Our sincere condolences to the Cummins Family from all in the Cappawhite Ladies Football Club.

U14 Football League - Cappawhite U14 boys travelled to Clonoulty to contest this 2nd round football league fixture on Saturday last and lost by a point to what was a closely fought match.
