Following a ‘re-imagining’ period, The Common Thread Café in Parnell Street will reopen today, Wednesday, 15th with a new colour scheme and layout. To mark its fourth year in business, the café is hosting an art exhibition on the theme of The Journeys we make to coincide with this year’s Clonmel Junction Festival’s theme. A selection of works by artists in paint, print and photography are on display in the new bright space, which was re-inaugurated on Tuesday evening with an exhibition launch.
Other events and activities in the café include a meditation circle, a weekly African drumming circle, a teenage storycircle and a choral sing-along on Friday, 24th May at 5pm. Other Junction Festival-related activities also take place at regular intervals and forms for its various projects and its trainee and volunteer schemes can be collected and dropped off at the café counter.
If you would like to volunteer as a café host and have one free morning or afternoon (Tuesday to Friday) per week, please contact the café on firstname.lastname@example.org or leave your name and details with the person in charge.
