The Sisters of Charity School in Clonmel was awarded its third Green Flag towards the end of the last school term.

The flag was awarded in recognition of the school’s work to conserve water.

The school was presented with the flag at a ceremony in Kilkenny. The flag was raised by the oldest pupil, Laura Noonan, and the youngest pupil, Natalie Gruscznska. A celebration party was held afterwards.

The Green Schools programme is based on a seven-step environmental management system and continual improvement process, which is very much student-led and also involves the wider community. The programme also promotes good citizenship among participants.

Before breaking for the summer holidays the Sisters of Charity held its sports day on June 14, while the plays Cinderella Rockerfella and The Princess and the Pea were performed on June 11.
