On Friday, June 17, the Bilboa 10K was hosted with Donal Keane leading the club home in 10th place in 35:20. Martin Keane, Padraig Coen and Ben English finished in 13th, 19th and 29th with times of 35:54, 37:04 and 38:34. The four lads combined to win the Jim Burke cup from Bilboa. Ben English won second prize in the over 50 category. Declan o Connor on his first outing for the club recorded an impressive time of 39:39. Colm Bradshaw and Tony Deleaney had times of 40:15 and 42:13. John Moore and Liz Breen finished with times of 43:43 and 45:59. The Dave Fogarty four mile road race will take place on June 23.

The Munster juvenile track and field championships were held over the last two weekends in Ennis and Castleisland. We had seven athletes competing. In the boys U/10 pairs event held in Ennis Stephen Browne and Ben Loughman competed well in the 60m where they finished 4th and in the 500m where they were 6th. Stephen had the second fastest time in the 600m. Thomas Furlong and Tommy Moore ran in the Boys U/13 60m and John Purdue competed in the Boys U/13 600m. This weekend in Castleisland we had Eimear Loughman running in the U/14 1500m where she won the bronze medal and the 800m where she finished 5th.Stephanie Moore competed in the Long jump and the High Jump where she was 6th with a jump of 1.35m. We have a number of juveniles competing in the community games in Templemore next Sunday. The county Juv ‘B’ championships will be the following Sunday to bring the county T & F season to a close.

The monthly meeting of Our Lady’s Sodality will take place on Monday next June 27. Mass in Knockavilla church at 7.30pm.

You can now avail of this free service on the following dates: Saturday next June 25 and Saturday July 2 .Strictly from 2pm to 6pm .NO CHARGE. Help clean up your environment, and at no cost to you. What we want: All types of metal i.e. cars, farm machinery, lead acid car/tractor/motorbike batteries etc, galvanise sheeting, gates, barrows, barrels, buckets, cattle troughs, old tanks, scrap electric cables, copper, lead, aluminium, stainless steel, bikes, motorbikes, old trailers, waterpumps, electric motors, wheels, solid fuel stoves, cast iron bath’s etc, even the kitchen sink! It is as simple as this. “If it’s metal and you don’t want it, we want it”

Senior hurling. Our senior hurlers played Golden Kilfeacle in Lattin in the West championship on Saturday evening last and were victorious on the night. Well done to all concerned.

Minor (B)Football. Our Minor (B) Footballers play Rockwell Rovers in Newinn in the West championship on Saturday night at 8.30pm. Your support would be appreciated for both teams

Sponsored walk

Our U8`s are having a sponsored walk in Marl Bog Dundrum next Friday evening to raise funds for Day Trip to Croke Park in July. Please support them.

U/12 Notes. Our U12A`s and C`s travelled to Golden on Thursday to play the homeside A and B teams. The C`s played first and proved to strong for the opposition emerging easy winners. The A team had a great match with a strong first half performance leading at half time but were lucky to hold off a great second half by Golden to emerge winners by a margin of two points. Final score 3-6 to 2-7. The B team played Cashel in Dundrum on Thursday and they too were victorious on the night. Training for U12 Saturday morning 11am .

U/14 Notes. U14 training Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6.30 all players to bring €2 on Fridays.
