Castleview Tennis Club players notched up some great results at the Hillview Open Tournament in Clonmel that finished on Sunday.
Players from the Club who featured in the finals included Julie Anne Foley and Tommy Rochford, who won the Mixed Doubles Premier award after an excellent final in difficult conditions late on Saturday evening,
The Mens’ Doubles Grade 3 competition was won by Barry Twomey and Martin Diggins while Laura Diffly and Sinead Glascott were runners up in a tightly contested final in the Women’s Doubles.
Eoin Burke was runner-up in the Men’s Singles Grade 5 contest, and was also runner-up in the Men’s Doubles partnered by David Cummins.
Paul Cummins and Brendan Gleeson were the winners of the Men’s Doubles Grade 6, while in the Women’s Doubles Jacinta Aherne and Carol Keogh were runners up and Jacinta also was runner-up in the Women’s Singles event.
It’s a hectic time for Castleview players with two more Open Week Tournaments coming up.
The next event on the calendar is the Kilkenny County and City Lawn Tennis Club’s Open Week, which commences on Saturday, June 25 and runs until Saturday, July 2.
The Waterford Senior Open Week kicks off on Sunday, July 3 and continues until the following Saturday, July 9. Entry forms available at the Clubhouse or on the Clubs’ websites.
There are plenty of tennis competition for Junior members too.
Castleview Junior Open Week takes place from July 4 to 9.
Applications forms are now available and can shortly be downloaded from the website. The closing date for entries is Monday, June 27.

Once again Julie Anne Foley will run the Summer Parks Tennis, which is two weeks of coaching for junior players. It runs from July 11 to 22.
