The club’s annual Mass for living and deceased members will take place at 7.30pm on Friday, September 9 in Ballybacon Church. Celebrant will be Fr. Bobby Power. All are welcome.
Newcastle Irish Dancing, Set and Ceilí classes will resume on Friday, September 9. All beginners are welcome at 5pm in the Community Hall Newcastle.
Please note that beginning on Saturday evening September 3, the evening Vigil Mass at 6.30pm will be in Fourmilewater Church and the Sunday morning Mass will be in Newcastle Church.

CLUB ‘66’ DAY TRIP
Club “66” are having a Day trip on this Thursday, September 1. The group will visit Tipperary Community Gardens, Cahir Sensory Gardens and will return to Newcastle via Mount Melleray and the Vee. As part of Heritage Week, August 21-28, Geneologist Cecile Mulcahy was at Tigh na nDaoine, Newcastle on Monday last, August 22. Cecile had a very busy day where she helped many families trace their ancestors, from the novice to the more advanced researcher. Unfortunately, as the day was by appointment only, many people were disappointed. However, Cecile will hold genealogy classes in September/October (dates to be decided) and anyone interested can contact Breda on 087 9957563 or 052 6136284 to make a booking. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Cecile for all her help and for generously giving her time.
SET DANCERS WIN
Congratulations to the set dancers who won the All Ireland title at Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann held in Cavan on Saturday August 20. Congrats also to their tutor Kathy McGrath for a wonderful achievement.
Following the long Summer break, the local school re-opens this week, and we wish a cead mile failte to the new beginners, as we say farewell to the sixth class, who left for the secondary schools of their choice.
Congratulations to our young students on doing so well in their Leaving Certs. We wish you all the best for the future and keep up the good work.

ALL IRELAND HURLING FINAL
Best wishes to the Tipperary Senior Hurlers in the All Ireland Final next Sunday. Tickets for the final will be distributed in the Club rooms on Wednesday night between 8.30-9.30pm sharp. Please collect your tickets between these times, as they cannot otherwise be guaranteed.

PREMIER END GAMES
Congratulations to Oisin O’Dwyer, who represented Newcastle at Semple Stadium, Thurles as Captain of the under 12’s on Tuesday evening August 23 last. This was for a photo shoot of the Premier End Games and needless to say, Oisin enjoyed the evening very much, especially meeting some of the Tipperary Senior Hurlers on the pitch. Newcastle are in the final of the hurling and we wish them all the best on September 11. This game will be played in Clogheen versus Moyle Rovers. It’s been a good year for our Under 12’s, so keep up the good work, as a few of you will next year be moving up to under 14’s.
MICHAEL KENNEDY CUP AND MEDALS
Our under 12’s played Clerihan for the Michael Kennedy Perpetual Cup in Newcastle on Saturday morning last. It was a well fought game of hurling on both sides, but it was a strong Clerihan team who were winners and were presented with the cup and medals by Club Chairman Michael Keating.
