GALTEE ROVERS ST PECAUN’S
Well done to our minor hurlers and senior footballers who both had important victories over the past week. In Golden on Tuesday night our minor hurlers turned on the style to dispose of Éire Óg and they now play the Emly Treacy’s combo this Wednesday night for a place in the West final. It was a much closer affair in New Inn on Saturday afternoon when our senior footballers had to battle all the way before seeing off Killenaule, 1-9 to 1-8, to qualify for the county quarter finals. This Saturday in Dundrum we play Éire Óg for a place in the West senior football final so plenty action to look forward to.
The August draw was held on Saturday night and the big money was divided as follows: €600 - Mary Barry, Ballymorris, €300 - Mary, Shiels, Barrack St., €150 - David Fanning, Ballough. As usual a sincere thanks to all our supporters and promoters, without whose help this draw would not be a success.
BANSHA SHOW SOCIETY
Bansha Show Society held its 55th annual Show on Wednesday last, August 24. This annual event attracted huge attendance and continues to be very successful. The Show committee wish to thank all who attended, those who supported by exhibiting, judges, stewards and all who helped in the efficient running of the Show. There was a terrific amount of entries on show in all categories with lots to occupy and entertain throughout the day. As usual the weather was good, which the locals always attest to Canon Hayes who was one of the founders of the Show in 1956. Well done and thanks to the Show Committee who work tirelessly over the summer months to ensure the continuity of a great tradition within the community.
