Since 2009 Muintir Na Tire has been providing services to older and vulnerable householders in South Tipperary through a social enterprise known as the Tipperary Community Safety project. This project provides small scale repairs for older and vulnerable people in their homes ie, general maintenance work, painting and decorating. This project also provides cavity wall and attic insulation free under the Warmer Homes (LIH) Low Income Housing Programme to qualifying householders.

As with all community run projects it is necessary to fundraise to provide the services. It would be appreciated if you could support this valuable work by donating your unwanted clothing and other house hold textiles. Clear plastic bags and information leaflets are available free in local shops for your unwanted clothing.

Our collection van will be available outside Ardfinnan Community Centre from 9am to 1pm on Wednesday, April 4, to collect your donation. eg following textiles are suitable towels, sheets, blankets, clothing, shoes and curtains.

All monies raised from this collection will be utilised for the benefit of older and vulnerable people in the community.

We had a disappointing time on the playing fields last weekend were our Senior, Minor and Under 16 teams all lost out to stronger opposition. The Seniors lost to Arravale Rovers in the County League and our Minors and Under 16 went down to Carrick Swan in the first round of the South Championship.

In the Premier 12’s, our Under 12 B team lost to Clonmel óg. Credit must be given to the lads who played some very nice football throughout and worked really hard to the very end. Training Times:

Under 6’s: at 11am Saturday mornings.

Under 8’s: at 11am Saturday mornings

Under 10’s: 11am to 12.15 pm Saturday mornings

Under 14s: 6.15pm Wednesday night in the new field

Under 16’s: Training on Tuesday nights at 7pm. We are away to Clonmel Commercials on Thursday night, check the fixtures list for details.

Minor: 7.30pm Friday night in the New field.

Adult Training: Wednesday night at 7.30pm in the New field.
