Training continues every Saturday morning for u6s and u8s at 11am. New members always welcome. Well done and best of luck to the u91/2 Community Games team who have qualified for the County Final in Semple Stadium which was to be played on Bank Holiday Monday. Our u10s are due to play their next blitz on June 9 and are training hard in preparation for it. U12s travelled to Mullinahone last Tuesday evening for a challenge hurling match against our old rivals and unfortunately were beaten by two points. Well done to all who took part. Our u14s underwent joy and heartache last week in the space of a few days when first they beat Kilsheelan in the South Semi Football Final in Mullinahone on Monday evening in a very challenging fast-paced game which they had to work very hard in the closing minutes of it to come out on top and secure their place in the South Final which was played Wednesday evening in Marlfield against Ardfinnan. Ballingarry started well and were three points up early on when Ardfinnan got two soft goals which seemed to rattle the lads and after that we seemed to be playing catch up all the time. Ballingarry were trailing by 5 points at half time and in fairness to the lads they put in a better second half but Ardfinnan proved too strong and came out champions on a score of 2-12 to 1-12. Well done to the u14s for getting to the South Final and their day will come and we would like to wish Ardfinnan the best of luck as they proceed to the County Semi Final. U16s are training every week as well in preparation for their hurling championship which won’t begin until after the exams and we would like to wish all sitting the Junior cert the best of luck.
