DIV 2 FOOTBALLERS BEATEN

Mitchelstown Div 2 footballers lost out to Glanworth in the Cavanagh’s Fermoy League on Tuesday evening in Glanworth. The final score was 2-14 to 0- 6. Team – Thomas Power, Robert Hanna, Peter Griffin, John Cleary, Jack Allen, Jamie Finn, Barry Coffey, Paddy O’Callaghan 0-1, Shane Pigott 0-2 Seamus Barrett 0-1, Padraigh Donegan, Anthony O’Brien 0-1, Kevin Mullins, Brendan Wiley, Shane Price, Subs Paul Seymour for Shane Price, Anthony Fitzgibbon 0-1 for John Cleary, Kieran Walsh for Kevin Mullins, Diarmuid Mullins for Jack Allen. Mitchelstown Junior A footballers will meet Liscarroll in the championship quarter final.

BALLYGIBLIN N .S. SCHOOL SOCIAL

Ballygiblin NS Parents Association will hold a social night in the Ramble Inn on Saturday, June 9, at 9pm. There is no entry fee. Music by D J Phil Hope. Raffle and refreshments on the night. All proceeds to the school.

COPE CLIMB

Glenahulla Blubber Busters will undertake a climb of the Galtees on Sunday, June 10, in aid of COPE Foundation. The group will meet at Jackson’s Pub Skeheenarinky at 10.45am. Anyone wishing to take part is most welcome.

PIONEER MASS

Mitchelstown Branch P.T.A.A. will hold their annual Mass and presentation of Golden and Silver medals on Friday, June 29, at the Town Hall. Mass starts at 7.30pm. Other presentations on the night are Fr Cullen Medal 40 60 and 70 year diplomas. HEART HEALTH AND DIABETES INFORMATION EVENING

The Living Health Clinic Mitchelstown is association with the North Cork Cardiac Support Group will host a patient information evening on Thursday next, June 7, at 7.30pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

THE LATE MARY NOONAN

The death occurred on May 28 at St Patrick’s Community Hospital Fermoy of Mary Noonan (Nee Childs) Kilmagner Fermoy and late of Ballybeg Mitchelstown. There was a large attendance at the removal on Wednesday evening from Ronayne’s Funeral Home Fermoy to Coolagown Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Thursday. Interment took place to Kilcrumper New Cemetery. To her husband Jackie, sons Mattie, Paul, daughter Mary (Sisk) daughters in law, son in law, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brother in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE BREEDA KAVANAGH

The death occurred on May 20 in England of Breeda Kavanagh, Crescent Road, North London and formerly of 32 Upper Cork St. Mitchelstown. She was daughter of the late David and Josephine Mulcahy. Cremation took place in Finchly Crematorium London on June l. To her daughters Georgia and Layla, grandchild Lainay, sisters Helen (Hickey) Francis (Norris) Jackie (Graham) brothers David and Eddie, brothers in law, sisters in law, relatives, and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.

THE LATE EILEEN McCARTHY

The death occurred at Strawhall Nursing Home Fermoy on May 29 of Eileen McCarthy (Nee Twiss), ‘Ealga,’ Upper Cork St. Mitchelstown, The late Eileen was predeceased by her husband John, Manager Mitchelstown Creameries. The late Eileen was a member of a very well known and highly respected family. There was a very large and represented attendance at the removal on Thursday evening from O’Brien’s Funeral Home Mitchelstown to the local Parish Church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Friday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery. To her daughters Aine, Eilin, Una, niece Maire, sister Madge (Daly) sons in law Joe Keane, Jim Howard, grandchildren, Eoin, Rona, Roisin, Aine, Eabha, Brid and Sean, relatives, neighbours and friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
