MATCH RESULT

Well done to Rockwell Rovers Intermediate football team who beat Cappawhite 2-9 to 0-10 last Saturday in Dundrum in the first round of the Rea Clarke Hennessy intermediate football championship. Rockwell Rovers had the breeze in the first half and it played a significant role in their 2-4 to 0-4 lead at half-time. Eoin Byrne scored their two goals in the sixteenth and twenty-ninth minutes to give them a good cushion facing the wind after the interval. Rockwell continued to pick off their points thereafter and were always in control even against the wind in the second half. Although played in difficult conditions both sides served up an entertaining game of football.

Team: Michael O’Donnell, Kevin Hally, Paul Hally, Stephen Quirke, Liam Lonergan, Pat Hally, Tommy Flynn, Eoin Byrne (2-1), Eoin Shine, John Heney, Alan Moloney (0-3), Gavin Ryan (0-1), Kevin Heney (0-1), Barry Shortall (0-2), David Byrne (0-1). Sub: James Heffernan for David Byrnes.
