Mitchelstown Junior B (2) footballers had a 1- 9 to 1- 5 win over Kildorrery in the championship quarter final at Glanworth on Tuesday evening. It was a keenly contested game with ‘Town leading 0-5 to 0-1 at half time.

Mitchelstown Junior A footballers had a close win over Buttevant in the championship semi final at Kildorrery on Saturday evening. Town led 2- 6 to 0-0 at half time but had to withstand a great second half recovery by Buttevant
in the second half. Final score 2- 9 to 2-6.
This is Mitchelstown’s third final appearance in a row. They now await either Kilworth or Ballyclough in the decider. THE LATE MAUREEN CONDON
The death occurred at her residence Kilbehenny, Mitchelstown, on August 6 of Maureen Condon (Nee O’Dwyer). The late Maureen who was the sacristan at Kilbehenny Church had been in ill health for a number of years and illness that was bravely borne. Her popularity was borne out in the very large and represented attendance at the removal on Wednesday evening from O’Sullivan’s Funeral Home Kilbehenny to the local church and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Thursday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery.
To her husband Fan, daughters Carol, Marie, Evelyn and Linda, son Alan, sisters Nellie, Nancy, Josie, brothers Michael, John, Pa, Jimmy, Gerald, Denis, Tommy, Willie and Robert, grandchildren, sons in law, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives neighbours and many friends we tender our sincere sympathy.
