Concert in aid of church renovation fund

Music lovers in Clonmel and the surrounding area are in for a treat on Friday, 7th September when Gaudeamus Productions, a Tipperary-based non-profit making group present The Irish Ring, a concert performance of the Irish ballad operas – Maritana, The Bohemian Girl and The Lily of Killarney in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church in aid of the Church Renovation Fund.

The principal roles will be taken by four outstanding young professional singers - Emma Walsh (soprano), Sarah-Ellen Murphy (contralto), Derek Ryan (baritone) and David Martin (tenor), supported by a chorus drawn from the cream of Tipperary, Thurles and Clonmel Musical Societies together with a full orchestra under conductor/musical director Danny Carroll, ably assisted by musical director/repetiteur Mary Rose McNally.

The narrator will be Clonmel’s Niall Carroll of Lyric FM fame and the overall production is devised and produced by Michael O’Donoghue.
