Table Quiz

Ballybacon Grange GAA Club intend to run a table quiz for Juvenile players in the Glenview Lounge on Friday night, October 25, at 8.30pm sharp!

We will use this to raise funds for both the hurling club and for the juvenile camogie club which we intend to set up for coming year to cater for the increasing number of girls in the parishes who want to play camogie.

Tables of four will be only €20. Please support if you can!

Knockmealdown Active will host a Halloween teamed childrens’ walk on Saturday, October 27, from 7.15pm to 8.30pm, starting out from Newcastle Community Hall.

The walk route will be approximately 1km long, with story telling, prize for most original fancy dress, guess the weight of the giant pumpkin competition and Halloween treats.

Entry is free and wellies and appropriate outdoor clothing is essential for the walk.

Children must be accompanied and supervised by adults. There is no charge to take part but donations to Knockmealdown Active would be appreciated.

Saorview - Saorview is the new free digital television service received with an aerial. It replaces the old analogue (aerial) TV service which will be switched off on October 24.

If people in the Goatenbridge/Ballybacon area wish to continue to receive Irish TV for free with your aerial you need to know about Saorview.

There are a lot of different places where you can help and find out more about Saorview.

Please contact a committee member of Ballybacon Community Alert or alternatively ask a family member, friend or neighbour, Saorview’s information Call Centre on 1890 222 012, www.saorview.ie, Aertel page 650 or a local registered retailer and/or aerial installer.

Ballybacon Community Alert would like to advise older and vulnerable people to be wary of any stranger who comes to your door without prior arrangement to install Saorview or offer you services to install same.

Neither Saorview nor RTE will send anyone to your door to check your television or aerial.

Please take note that anyone/ community organisation etc. who would like to have notes included in the Goatenbridge section are asked to send them via e-mail to murtylonergan@eircom.net or you can telephone 087 6497083 on or before 4pm (please note time change) on the Sunday prior to publication!
