Boys football team have qualified for the County Final, following a decisive win over Lismacken, with a score of 6-9 to 1-6 in the semi final. The final will be played after the mid term break. All support greatly appreciated.

The school would like to thank all those who contributed to the recent used clothing collection. A total of €714 was raided in aid of school funds.


At Ozanam House (Canon’s) for the month of October, lots of suits, jeans, forks and bric-a-brac, all going for knock down prices. Ceilia will be there each Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 12pm.


Celebrations were in order on Thursday last, October 18, for Peggy O’Dwyer, Donohill, who celebrated her 90th birthday in the Day Care with her friends. Music on the day for the special event was by Mick Kellet. Much thanks to the staff who made it all so enjoyable. Many more years of health and happiness Peggy.


To Maura Corbett, Newtown, Anacarty on the unexpected death of her brother Sean Mulcahy, Glassdrum. To Sean’s nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Pauline, brother-in-law Paddy and extended family sympathy is extended. After mass in Cappawhite on Monday last Sean’s remains were interred in the family grave in Kilpatrick.

Sympathy also to the McCormac family, Greenane, on the death of their dad Owen. To his brothers, sisters Peggy Meagher and Biddy Donovan, nieces, nephews and many friends in Cappa Day Care where he is really missed, especially at the cards which he loved playing. Last week his remains were interred with his wife Mary in Tipperary cemetery. “Sweet Jesus have mercy on their dear souls”


To the Anacarty girls who won the County Final on Sunday, October 14, and to the Cappa U14s who were on the team, heartiest congrats.

Best of Luck to the Anacarty girls who will play in the Intermediate Camogie County Final on Saturday next, October 27, in the Camogie Pitch in the Ragg.


There will be a church gate collection this weekend, October 27 and 28, in aid of Crumlin Childrens’ Hospital. All support would be appreciated.


The anniversary bingo in Cappawhite will be held on Sunday, November 25, at 3.30pm. There will be double prize money, spot prizes and Christmas prizes.


In Cappawhite on Saturday, November 3. The music on the night will be by Laurence Campion. Admission is €8 and all proceeds go to the Day Care.
