New Inn



A fundraiser in aid of Children’s Ward, South Tipperary General Hospital, will take place in Ollies Bar, New Inn, next Saturday, October 27. This is a fun night with a local drag queen contest. Spot prizes, food and lots of fun guaranteed!


The association held their A.G.M. last Thursday, October 11. A great turnout was had with a very successful meeting. Our committee is as follows - Chairperson: Annette Carroll, Treasurer: Catherine O’Brien and a new Secretary was elected, Julie Hennessey. A sincere thanks to our outgoing secretary Michelle Doyle who stepped down after three years of very dedicated work. Thank you. Notice of our next meeting will be sent out via text message.


It has been decided to postpone the “Family Fun day” which was to be held on October 28. Instead, it has been decided to hold a table quiz on Friday, November 2, in Barrons Pub at 8pm. Table of four - €20. There will be a raffle and refreshments served and music afterwards. All support would be appreciated.


Parish Links are having their annual church gate collection on November 3 and 4 at both churches. Your support is very much appreciated as it helps to raise funds for the Senior Citizens Christmas party. More details of the Christmas party nearer the time.

Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Mary Theresa (May) Tobin of London and late of Knockgraffon, Cahir, Tipperary. Deeply regretted by her sisters Philomena (O’Dwyer) and Gertie, brother Fr. Tom (Montana), brother-in-law Billy, relatives and friends.

Sincere sympathy is also extended to Mary Flynn and family, New Inn, on the death of her daughter Marian Hayes (nee Flynn), late of Ballygerald and Cashel.

Sincere sympathy is also extended to the family of Martin O’Connell late of Caherconlish and Ballina (Brother of Fr. John O’Connell), who died recently.


U7, U9 and U11 Hurling Leagues started on Monday, October 13. The under 7s teams had captains Niamh Perry and Cian O’Brien, U9s had captains Luca Fitzgerald and Jason O’Gorman whilst the under 11 teams had captains Karin Blair, Laura O’Gorman, Anna Downey and Ciara Moloney. Games were held each night under floodlights with the finals on last Thursday, October 18.

These leagues were a great success with nearly 60 boys and girls under 7s, under 9s and under 11s playing hurling and football nightly. Tea/coffee was available in the stand each night to parents who came to support their children.

On the final night all the players received goodies. Parents and young players had some lovely food provided by the Juvenile committee.
