Football - The conditions may have been deplorable but our under 21 footballers and our senior footballers served up two fine performances over the weekend with a draw on Sunday being scant reward for all their great efforts. On Saturday in Sean Treacy Park we played the Emly/Treacy’s combo in Round five of the West championship. With both sides in the semis it was hard to know who learned more from this encounter but the team in red showed plenty of spirit, particularly into the wind, before losing out on a scoreline of 2-6 to 0-7. This weekend these teams go head to head in the semi-final and we wish Taffy and his charges all the best. On Sunday morning our senior footballers played host to Moyne-Templetuohy in round three of the county Premier league. For most of the game it was the visitors who led with the aid of three green flags. To their credit Bansha stuck to their task and kept picking off their points to level the scores at the end, 3-4 to 1-10
