Award for Carrick Lions Club

Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club has won the Lions Club of the Year award for the second time in three years.

Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club has won the Lions Club of the Year award for the second time in three years.

The honour for the local club was announced at the annual Lions Clubs Convention in Athlone, which was attended by Carrick Lions Club President Stephanie Keating and Kieran Doran.

District Governor Joe Smith praised the Carrick-on-Suir Club highly for the outstanding work and service its members contribute to the people of the town and its hinterland. He said he was in Carrick-on-Suir during the Lion Club’s Awareness Week last autumn and witnessed the wonderful service the organisation provided to the community. There was further congratulations for the Carrick Club on its success in a recent national U-15 soccer tournament.
