Carrick Lions win Club of the Year

Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club has won the Lions Club of the Year award for the second time in three years.

Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club has won the Lions Club of the Year award for the second time in three years.

The honour for the local club was announced at the annual Lions Clubs Convention in Athlone, which was attended by Carrick Lions Club President Stephanie Keating and Kieran Doran.

District Governor Joe Smith from the Howth/Sutton Club, Dublin praised the Carrick-on-Suir Club highly for the outstanding work and service its members contribute not alone to the people of the town but also the surrounding hinterland.

The District Governor said he was in Carrick-on-Suir during the Lion Club’s Awareness Week and witnessed the wonderful service the organisation provided to the community.

There was further congratulations for the Carrick Club at the convention as it was also successful in the recent national U-15 soccer tournament.
