Valerie O’Reilly (Unicorn PR) was re-elected as president of Clonmel Chamber of Commerce at the organisation’s 87th annual general meeting, which was held at The Main Guard.
Speaking about the past year, the president described it as one of the busiest that the Chamber had ever experienced. Aside from hosting almost 30 events, the Chamber had also played a major part in the Entente Florale competition, the Christmas in Clonmel event and much more.
She also spoke about the need for businesses to come together to create new opportunities and to facilitate economic development.
Two new directors were elected at the AGM to join the board of the Chamber - Frances O’Hanlon from FOH Financial Services and Mark Small from Mediate Ireland.
The Chamber President paid tribute to her colleagues on the board and those who had decided to stand down.
“Time is one of the scarcest resources for entrepreneurs at the moment and I am particularly grateful to the board members and those who have served on the board and have chosen to stand down for the time they have given to Clonmel Chamber. We are regarded as one of the best Chambers in Ireland. That hasn’t happened by accident and the board has played a significant role in getting us to that level” said Ms O’Reilly.
Chamber CEO Brian Cleary gave a brief presentation to the delegates about an upcoming initiative to provide better representation for members of the Chamber on issues of regional and national importance.
