Bank Holiday tradition
The annual Mass at the Holy Year Cross on Scrouthea Hill, or Cnoc a Chomortais, overlooking Clonmel will be celebrated as usual at 11am on Bank Holiday Monday, August 5.
The organisers are hoping and praying for fine weather and another large congregation is expected.
As well as the celebration of the Mass it’s a day out for all the family and an occasion enjoyed by young and old alike.
RTE to film at Nelson Street Arts Centre
Tony Oakey’s exhibition Down to Earth is a very vibrant and quirky show and is running up to Wednesday, August 7 in the gallery in the South Tipperary Arts Centre, Nelson Street, Clonmel.
The gallery is open through lunch from Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free and it’s well worth a visit.
RTE Junior are visiting the South Tipperary Arts Centre and will be filming there on Monday, 19th August.
The last graffiti workshop is taking place this week with a full house of teenagers and tutor Julie.
An exhibition of photos by Primary School children who participated in the Get Snapping photo competition in conjunction with Clonmel Photo Centre is on display in the foyer of the Arts Centre for the next few weeks.
For those who missed Tony O’Connor’s equine art exhibition in the Arts Centre last month, he will have a stand at the Dublin Horse Show in the Arts and Antiques Hall.
More than €7,000 raised for Cancer Support Centre
The trustees and staff of the CARE Cancer Support Centre in Wellington Street, Clonmel thank most sincerely the therapists and volunteers who give
so freely of their time and expertise.
A huge thank you is also extended to those who organised fundraising events; sponsors and those who donated and contributed in any way to the centre. A special thank you to the ladies who participated in the Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin in June and raised the fantastic sum of €7,146.
The Cancer Support Centre is closed for the summer break and will re-open on Monday, August 26.
