The monthly meeting of local ICA Guild was an outing to Kilkenny on Tuesday, May 3; leaving by Joe O’ Sullivan’s Coach at 11 am. First stop was to Kilkenny Design Shop where members had lunch then to Kilkenny Castle & Park. Members took a stroll through this lovely city, did some shopping and all met up at Langton’s Restaurant at 5.30pm for evening meal, leaving for home at 8pm after a very memorable day. KILLENAULE HEARTSAFE

Killenaule Heartsafe committee has been established under the chairmanship of John Hayes. The committee now have four defibrillators, two donated by Boston Scientific, and two donated by the Killenaule Senior GAA club.

The next step is to provide external storage boxes for quick access, and training for volunteers, on the use of the defibrillators. This will require fund raising. With this in mind, a team of four are paticipating in the Connemara Rough Diamond twenty six mile run and cycle. The team of P.J. Hayes, Pakie Ryan, Jamie Lawlor and Liam Meagher are looking for sponsorship for this endeavour, and hope the community will be generous in their support.
