Congratulations to Eimear O’Grady, Kileatin Clogheen, daughter of Harry and Rosaline O’Grady, and Maurice Ryan, Ballymacarbry who were married in St Marys Church last Friday. Reception was in Hotel Minella, Clonmel. We wish the happy couple every health and happiness together.

St Marys National School Celebrates:

St Marys National School will celebrate 30th anniversary of Clogheen school. A summer dance in Kilcoran Lodge Hotel will take place on 11th June. A hot buffet and dancing till late, plus a free glass of summer punch on arrival, all for just €20. Come and join the fun and help celebrate 30 years of St Marys. Tickets available from School and Parents Council. Thank You;

The Daly family would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who supported the bike run on Sunday 1st May in support of their son Philip Jr. Personally, Philip and Carmel Daly would also like to thank relatives and close friends on both sides of our families for all the help and hard work they gave. The sum raised was €11,260.

“La na Bhfiann”

The Sgt Tommy Halligan Branch of ONE will hold its first remembrance mass at St Marys Church, Clogheen at 11 am on Sunday 22nd May. This will be preceded by a parade of branches from the Southern Area O.N.E. The colour party and marching body will form up at St Pauls Community Centre and preceed to St Marys Church via main st at 10.4am. All are welcome.

R.T.E.s “Hearthland”;

Congratulations to the O’Grady Family Kileatin, Clogheen who were featured in the two part series of the R.T.E programme “Hearthland” on Monday and Tuesday last week.

Big Spin Around Ireland 1000kms;

The above charity run will take place on 4,5 and 6th June in aid of Crumlin Childrens Hospital Bone Marrow Unit.The motorcycle run will leave Morrissons Bar Ballysimon Limerick on Saturday 4th June and tour the west coast. They will arrive in Clogheen on Sunday 5th June at 5pm approx, staying overnight. On their arrival in Clogheen, there will be a karoke music and food in Brendans Lounge on that evening. On Monday morning they will leave for Cork City. Anyone interested please contact Davy. The cost for each entrant is €100 sponsered.

Mixed fortunes again for Brian Borus last week when the Under 16s lost to Templemore in Templemore. The team lined out as follows; Gemma English, Megan O’Gorman, Rebecca English, Ellen English, Claire Doyle, Laura Dillon, Jane O’Mahony, Claire Walsh, Sinead Kennedy, Maureen Murphy, Thea Lonergan, Megan Heffernan, Caoimhe Condon, Michaela Maher, Aisling Quirke, Subs Aine Costello and Kate O’Brien.

The u 14s lost to Mullinahone on Tuesday evening. This panel is made up of the following players; Norma Kennedy,Chloe Sweeney,Ellen English, Regina Cooney, Eilish Kennedy, Amy Tobin, Ciara Hickey, Caoimhe Condon, Fiona Burke, Laura Morrissey, Claire Doyle, Caoimhe Ryan, Linda Murphy, Jessica Myers, Helena Walsh

However the Under 12s beat Mullinahone on Thursday evening. The final score was Brian Boru’s 3-2 Mullinahone 1-1. Best of luck to the Senior team who will play Cappawhite in the Senior League final next Saturday.

The Code of Ethics course will take place in Clogheen next Wednesday night at 7pm. The course costs €10 per person.

Brian Borus are holding a Barn Dance in Mulcahy’s Bar, Burncourt on Saturday June 11th. Tickets cost €12 and the price includes D.J. and barbeque. Tickets will be available from all committee members.

Fr. Sheehy’s Juvenile GAA club‏;

Primary Game. Congratulations to Fr. Sheehy’s under 14 player Colin English who has been chosen to represent his school, Burncourt N.S. in the Primary Game football match versus Kerry. This will take place along with the Tipperary V Kerry Munster Senior Football Championship game in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney on this Sunday, May 22nd.

Under 14. The combination u14 football team Ballylooby-Castlegrace/ Fr. Sheehy’s kept in contention in the championship with an exciting victory over Fethard in Clogheen last week by 4-7 to 4-3.
