With just over 40 days to go until Cashel town welcomes visitors from across Europe as part of the EU Charter event, organisers are still looking for host families.
260 delegates from 26 different European countries will swell the population of the town for the inter-community festival which takes place from June 30 to July 4.
Town Clerk Marie McGivern says Cashel will certainly be very ready to host the visitors, following hot on the heels of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth this week. And the town is sure to be looking its best thanks to the efforts of those in Cashel Tidy Towns group who have been planning their planting schedules with the event in mind.
Organisers are still looking for some host families to provide accommodation, and friendship, for some of the European visitors. Most places have been organised but a few more families are needed to complete the plans.
When they stay with local families the visitors will sample Irish family life, and it will present an opportunity for local companies to do business with the 26 countries involved.
The five-day event will be an inter-cultural and educational festival.
If you would like to host some of the European visitors contact the EU Charter organisers or Cashel Town Council.
