SENIOR CITIZENS OUTING
The annual summer outing of members of the club took place on Wednesday, July 13 and luck was on their side with a beautiful sunny day. Short break at “Glen Rue” for tea / coffee on way to New Ross; to board the “Cruiser” where everyone enjoyed a beautiful four course meal as they cruised along for two hours on a glorious sunny afternoon.
On return to Waterford the usual shopping took place and then at 6pm the return journey home where a stop took place at Slievenamon Fairways Restaurant for tea; arriving home to Killenaule at 9pm.
The members wish to thank the committee for one of the best days we had out and hope all have a very enjoyable break until September when we get back.
A very enjoyable day on Thursday, July 21, as members of local guild went on a trip to Moneygall to visit where Barack Obama visited. The place looks beautiful and a great buzz around with tourists.
After Afternoon Tea at Obama’s Café, the members toured around and admired how well the place looked, houses painted and flowers everywhere. Locals were very helpful and we did not leave without visiting “Ollie’s Bar” to try out some drinks and stand at the bar where Michelle and the President stood. On then to Cloughjordan to be given a guided tour of the Eco Village by Ann-Marie. It is a site worth visiting.
The evening and night ended as we went to the concert in Cappawhite Community Hall where entertainment was top class.
Special thanks to our fellow ICA members Ena Ryan who invited the members to High Tea before the show and to the committee of the Community Hall who provided tea and cakes after the show.
