Although it will be September before the winners are announced at the Tidy Towns social evening in the Shamrock Lounge it will be worth the wait as the judges will score the entries on many different topics. The judges will remain anonymous to the committee and will be from outside the area, with qualifications in the Tidy Towns area.

There continues to be huge interest in keeping Cahir Tidy and well done to those who are painting their premises. I know that it is a difficult time for people to find money for paint but it is well worth spending when you see the finished job.

Driving around the town last week and it was a joy to see so many out and about helping their area. The Wednesday Group were busy at work on the Clonmel Road and also litter picking on the by-pass. Park Avenue got a help also. On Wednesday 27 we will finish the Clonmel Road and we will meet at the Car Park at 7pm or on the Clonmel Road if more convenient.

The chairman, Andy Moloney would like to thank those who supported our collection at the weekend and guarantees that this money will be well spent. He says that 2012 is year three of the three year plan and with one big push we can secure the National Bronze Medal at the very least. This is a great opportunity for the town to receive National Honors.
