Minor ‘B’ South Final result: Ballyporeen 2-15; Ardfinnan 0-05. The minors of Ballyporeen created a bit of history of their own in Ballyloobly on Friday evening last when they lifted their first ever B title against a fancied Ardfinnan side. From number one to fifteen this was almost complete performance. We had three points on the board after six minutes courtesy of Anthony Crotty, Shane Lynch and a free from Fionan O’ Sullivan before Ardfinnan opened their account with two points of their own. Both sides were trying to get a foothold on the game and when ‘Keeper Michael Sweeney pulled off a fantastic save after 10 minutes Ballyporeen began to assert their authority in every area of the pitch. More points followed and when Anthony Crotty and Noel Vaughan goaled after 27 and 29 minutes the match was almost over as a contest. Half time score: Ballyporeen 2-06; Ardfinnan 0-03.

Ballyporeen were anxious to get the first score of the second half and this arrived on 6 minutes and then the floodgates opened with eight further points to Ardfinnan’s two, the highlight being a cracking point from Eoin Morrisey after 20 minutes when he kicked from 45 yards out on the right wing. Final Score: Ballyporeen 2-15; Ardfinnan 0-05.

This result comes after a lot of hard work from both players and the coaches and mentors who look after them and we now await our opposition in the County scene.
