The parents council would like to say a huge thank you to all who supported their cake sale and coffee morning which was held on Friday, February 3, it was a great success with just under E800 raised. Thanks to all the parents who baked and to the parents who gave up their time to help out on the day, we would also like to thank the public who came along and supported us, to all who donated prizes for our raffle we greatly appreciate it. This money raised will go towards updating our school library. We are currently looking for second hand books which are in good condition for the library so if you have any books that may be lying around at home we would be delighted to avail of them they can be handed in to our school office or given to any member of the committee.
Our deepest sympathies to the Callaghan family, Cooladerry, on the sad loss of Paddy who passed away on Thursday last February 16. He had a great love for sports and went to every game if he could in recent years he had the privilege of watching his grand children play both football and hurling and he was so proud. Paddy was a great neighbour and was always willing to help out, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We offer our sympathy to his wife Kathleen, his sons John, Eamon, Noel, Jimmy, Jerry, his daughters Breda, Noreen and Martina, his son in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, relatives and friends, removal took place on Sunday night last from O’Sullivans funeral home Kilbehenny to the Church of the Assumption Ballyporeen, and after requiem mass on Monday Paddy was laid to rest in St.Marys Cemetery Ballyporeen.
