Emer Lyons, Coleman, and Clare Nolan, Springmount, are hoping to travel to Kenya this Summer to work in a school in Nairobi as volunteers for the Helping U Grow (HUG) organisation. The girls are busy fundraising with their friends Maura Buckley, Meabh Kennedy and Gillian Hickey who are also hoping to travel.

Last Friday night they held “A sing for Africa” concert in St. Mary’s hall, Clonmel, which was a great success for which the girls were extremely grateful. They would like to thank their Clerihan friends who supported the event and a big thank you to Brian Mangan who was one of the eighteen acts on the night. Thanks also to Flannery Design for the posters and the parents who helped on the night.

This Sunday, February 26, the girls are organising a sponsored walk in Marlfield starting at 1.30pm at Marlfield Church. They would appreciate any support by either sponsoring them or by taking part in the walk itself.

St. Michael’s National School Parents Association is holding a Coffee Morning in aid of South Tipperary Hospice on Sunday, February 26, in Halla na Saoirse, Clerihan at 11.15 a.m. Your support for this event would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you there.

A speaker from the Apostolate of Eucharistic Adoration for Parishes will speak at the two masses this weekend. During the talk the speaker will invite the people to fill in pledge cards, which will have been given to them on the way into Mass, which will indicate what day and what time would be most suitable for them to spend an hour in Eucharistic Adoration in Clerihan Church.
