SHOWTIME IN ARDFINNAN
All roads will lead to Ardfinnan on Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3, when O.U.R.Productions Ltd. (very limited) will present a show in the Community Centre called “Dragon’s Den (kind of) and the Xfactor (kind of) for two nights only.
With a local cast of 40 or so people, we want you to come out for the night and have a good laugh (either with us or at us, we don’t mind) and also enjoy some of the best vocal talents from the area.
Tickets are on sale in all the local shops in Ardfinnan. Adults E8, children E5. We also have a special family ticket (two adults and two children) for just E20. For phone bookings and the family tickets phone Michael on 086 0837547 or John at 052 7466215.
Please book your tickets in advance if at all possible as this would make it easier for the organisers on the night to judge the number of seats required. There will be the usual raffle on both nights and as an incentive for the opening night we are offering a flat screen TV for the first prize.
All the participants taking part have agreed that any profits from the show will be donated to the South Tipp Hospice.
MOTORCYCLE ROAD RACER
Tommy Heaphy, Ballyporeen, will hold a get together and fundraiser in Kilcoran Lodge Hotel on Saturday, March 3, at 9pm. Tommy is South Tipp’s only road racer. Come along to Kilcoran with free entry to live music and DJ, a raffle will take place on the night. Please support.
CHELTENHAM PICK THE WINNERS
It’s that time of year again when Clogheen Playground Committee invite you to ‘Pick the Winners’. Entry fee is still only E30! You select one horse each day from each of the first four races only, from Tuesday, March 13, to Friday, March 16, inclusive. Points are allocated as follows: a winner will get you 100 points, a second placed horse will get 60 points and third 40 points. First prize is €1,000, second prize €300 and third prize is €200. There is also a daily prizewinner of €100. Tickets are available from any committee member. In 2011 the committee spent over €6,000 on upgrading the cameras, on maintenance and also refurbishing some of the equipment. As this is the committee’s only fundraiser we would again ask for your support as we would be unable to maintain the playground without available funds.
DUHILL DRAMATIC SOCIETY
The society’s A.G.M took place on Friday, February 17, in Duhill Hall. The following officers were elected: Chairperson - Marie Fitzgearld, Secretary - Mary Murphy, Treasurer - John O’ Gorman. We are also delighted to announce Mick Dunne of Mitchelstown will be joining us again for 2012 to direct our next production!

Training for u14s and u16s will take place in Ballylooby pitch on Sunday, February 12, at 11.30am.
Congratulations: Congratulations to the Colaiste Dun Iascaigh girls who won the Junior B College Camogie All Ireland Semi Final in Clanna Gael Fontenoy, Dublin last Saturday. The girls played an Antrim school. Well done to all involved! Members from our parish were: Rebecca English, Caoimhe Condon, Maureen Murphy, Claire Walsh, Fiona Burke and Regina Cooney. We wish Rebecca English a speedy recovery from her injury!
FR SHEEHY’S GAA CLUB
We got our season off to a winning start in Lattin on Sunday last with a 1-11 to 1-6 win over Lattin Cullen in the County League.
U21 Football Championship
For the third week in a row our match in this championship was cancelled owing to an unplayable pitch. Our next fixture is down for the first weekend in March.
Scrap Metal Collection.

All help and support would be appreciated with this fundraiser as money raised will go towards repayment of development debts and running of the club.
