Bansha

Galtee Rovers St Pecaun’s

Football

A goal early in each half proved the difference between ourselves and Éire Óg on Friday night in Tipp Town and now we must play catch up if we are to get back into contention. Final score 2-9 to 0-11. Our minor footballers bowed out of their competition with a walkover to Clonoulty last week and now their focus will be on the minor hurling competition where they reached the 2011 final.

Juvenile News

U8s football and hurling training continues Mondays 7-8pm in Bansha. All help is welcome as our juvenile coaches are very busy with the various other age groups.

Our U12B footballers have completed a busy fixture list over the last few weeks. Playing strong Kickhams, Lattin/Cullen and Rosegreen teams in both home and away games, they faced tough games, coming away with mixed results and it is a credit to the lads for trying hard and playing some good football.

Both our U12A and U14A footballers faced Golden this week. The lads played some fantastic football, winning both games convincingly in the end to progress in their championships.

Our U12A footballers have 3 win from 3 games. We played Arravale Rovers in Bansha on Monday to try keep the unbeaten run going. This game will decide who we face in the West football semi-finals.

Well done to our under 16 footballers who have qualified for the West A final after a brave display against Golden on Sunday night. Playing with the wind and rain we hit 3-7 without reply before the break. We then had to withstand a second half siege which yielded 2-8 for Golden before we hit a pair of breakaway goals to seal the victory, 5-7 to 2-8.

Tipperary Clubs Draw

By now most people should have got their receipts for the old draw and we can expect our draw promoters to be busy in the coming weeks. This is the 25th anniversary of the Tipperary GAA Clubs draw and to mark the occasion the headline prizes are two Skoda cars each month. The draw costs €100 or €10 a month and anybody wishing to join should contact a club officer before May 18th.
