First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion for both schools being Golden and Thomastown will take place in Golden on Sunday May 13.

Golden National School

Golden National School will celebrate its 75th Anniversary on June 23 and a number of events will take place to mark this very special occasion. The school is seeking sponsorship to help alleviate the costs incurred in organising these celebrations and would greatly appreciate any sponsorship from businesses or individuals alike. Golden/Kilfeacle ICA

The Golden/Kilfeacle ICA AGM was held recently and officers elected were as follows

President - Breda Kirwan, Vice President - Eileen Crosse, Secretary - Betty O’Keeffe, Treasurer - Maureen Fogarty, PRO - Teresa O’Connell.

It was decided for this year’s Summer outing they will pay a long day visit to An Grianan, the ICA Educational College, Termonfeakin, Co. Louth. The Tour will take place on Wednesday July 11. Golden/Kilfeacle - Queen of the Suir Festival.

Congrats to Aoife Moloney (Oola) on entering the Queen of the Suir Competition. Celebrity Models taking part in the Fashion show which will be held on Friday June 29 are Ann Currivan, Jane Bargary, Kevin Landy and Dougie Blackford. Anyone interested in setting up a stall in the Car boot sale on Saturday evening on the island should contact Alice (087 2405521). €10 will get you a stall for any items you might want to sell. Don’t forget the Kiddies afternoon will go ahead again this year in the Community Hall on Sat June 30th from 2-5pm. This afternoon will include Art Competitions, Face painting, Disco and shop. The festival Little Prince and Princess will be selected at the kiddies disco.
