MASS

MASS

An open air mass will take place in the Garden of Remembrance, Ballynonty, on Monday, July 16, at 7.30pm.

TOWN ENHANCEMENT

Town Enhancement meeting was held in St Mary’s Hall last week and a long discussion took place on the bottle bank at main street car park. It is hoped 2012 Christmas tree will be planted at the car park, when some changes can be put in to place. Litter is still a big problem, paths are in bad condition, more community spirit is needed. Areas around estates are not being cleared of grass.

SENIOR CITIZENS OUTING

Members and committee of the local club travelled on the annual Senior Citizens Outing to Cobh to visit the Titanic Experience, which was very interesting. It was a very enjoyable day and the weather was glorious. First stop was at the Corbett Court for tea and scones and then on to Cobh where we enjoyed our lunch in the Commodore Hotel. After visiting Cobh we went to Mahon Shopping Centre, Douglas, and ended the day with high tea on the return journey in Corbett Court and two hours of dancing and a sing along. Thanks to our organising committee for all their effort.

PILGRIMAGE TO KNOCK

GARDEN CLUB

KILENAULE MOYGLASS LADIES SOCCER

Killenaule Moyglass girls have reached the All-Ireland semi-final of the FAI Intermediate Cup after beating Newcastle West, Limerick, in the quarter-final in Scoil Ruain last Sunday at 4pm. The team were down a few players due to holidays, but got off to a great start when Shauna Hayes scored after 5 minutes and Katie O’Regan scored 20 minutes in, and then Katie set Shauna up for her second to leave the team 3-0 at half time.

Newcastle West got well into the game in the second half and got a goal after 10 minutes, but Killenaule held out for a well deserved win and a place in the top four. It was the team’s best performance all year.
