A church gate collection for the benefit of “Self-Help-Africa” takes place on the weekend of July 21 and 22. All support would be gratefully appreciated.

TWO SEMI FINALISTS

Congratulations to Aisling Buckley, youngest daughter of Austin and Noreen Buckley B.B.C. and Aoife Walsh daughter of Martin Gerard and Hillery Walsh who proudly west through to the All Ireland semi final in piano in Dublin on Saturday last. Girls the very best of luck in the final.

TEA DANCE

Saturday night was well attended and music by Declan Aungier was a joy to listen and dance to. Much thanks as usual to all who gave spots and food for the tea and to all the helpers who give their best every month. All proceeds to the Day Care.

BIRTHDAY GREETINGS

To Jimmy O’Connor, Moher East, who celebrated his 88th birthday on Saturday, July 8. Many more years Jimmy is the wish of all you cousins.

SINCERE SYMPATHY

To the Butler family, Ayle, on the death of their dear mother Mary who died in Milbrae Lodge Nursing Home in Newport on Saturday last, July 8. Mary spent the last five years in the home and her family could only give the height of praise for the owners and staff, she was very happy there. After mass in Cappawhite Lady of Fatima Church on Tuesday, July 10, her remains were interred in Cappawhite with her late husband Mikie. There was a large crowd both days to offer their sympathy. May her dear soul “rest in peace”.

CEMETERY MASSES

This week and next week, in Cappawhite this Wednesday, July 11, and in Toem on Wednesday, July 18, both masses start at 8 p.m.

GARDEN FETE

In Mount Sion (Tipperary Town) there will be a Garden Fete on Sunday, July 15, from 2pm to 5 pm. Unused/unwanted items (new or almost new) are welcome. No clothing accepted. Books, plants and shrubs, home baking, garden produce will be accepted. Phone 06252199.

CANON HAYES 10K

Is on Friday, July 13, at 7 p.m; open to walkers, joggers, runners of all ages. In aid of Moorehaven Centre, Tipperary (centre for adults with a mild to moderate range of intellectual disability). Sponsorship cards at the Canon Hayes Centre or the Moorehaven centre.

U14B Hurling

Cappawhite 7-17 Rockwell Rovers 0-3

The Cappawhite boys travelled to New Inn on Thursday evening last for this U14B fixture. Cappawhite came away easy victors and played some lovely hurling. Cappawhite led by 3-8 to 0-2 at the interval and gave the Cappawhite mentors an opportunity to try out all the panel. Well done to all.

U12 B Hurling

Cappawhite 5-13 Lattin Cullen 1-1

Cappawhite hosted Lattin for this u12 hurling fixture on Monday evening last. Cappawhite led by 3-8 to 0-0 at half time. It was a tighter game after the break and Lattin managed to convert 1-1 while limiting Cappa to only 3 scores. Well done to all .

Minor Hurling

The minor hurlers were defeated by Eire Og in Round 1 of the west championship. Final Score: Eire Og 1-12 Cappa 0-10. Their next game is against Golden on July 17.
