Tipp athlete will represent club and county at All-Ireland finals

Tipperary Town Athletics Club member Sean Glasheen will be representing his club and county in three events in the All-Ireland Juvenile Track & Field Championships, which begins this Saturday.

Tipperary Town Athletics Club member Sean Glasheen will be representing his club and county in three events in the All-Ireland Juvenile Track & Field Championships, which begins this Saturday.

The Lattin teenager’s medal winning performances in the U-15 long jump, javelin and shot putt in the recent Munster Championships at Cork Institute of Technology qualified him for the All-Ireland championships in these events.

Sean achieved a bronze medal in the long jump, silver in the javelin and gold in the shot putt where he threw the shot an impressive 13 metres and 10 centimetres.

The All-Ireland Track & Field Championships takes place in Tullamore this Saturday, July 14 and on Saturday, July 28.

Sean, who is coached by Breda Christie of Tipperary Town AC, will also represent Co. Tipperary in the javelin in the All-Ireland Community Games finals at the end of August.
