GALTEE ROVERS ST PECAUN’S

Hurling

On Saturday night in Cappawhite our intermediate hurlers suffered their second defeat of this year, losing out, 1-13 to 0-13 to Sean Treacy’s. Our final game is against Arravale Rovers and we have to get a result in this one if we are to stay in contention.

Club Draw

The June draw was held recently and the big money was divided as follows; € E600- John Peters, Ballydavid; €E300- Margaret Quinn, Ballinacourty; €E150- Bernie Quirke, Rathgar, Dublin. Well done to all our draw promoters and supporters and a sincere thanks to those who recently joined the Tipperary Clubs Draw with Galtee Rovers.

Juveniles

Last Monday night in Rosegreen our under 12 B hurling team finally got their first win of the campaign with a great performance against the home side. Well done also to our under 14 hurlers who recorded their second win of the championship against Sean Treacy’s on Saturday. Our under 16 hurlers will shortly be in action in their division.

Sympathy

The sympathy of our club this week is extended to the Halpin family, Cappauniac, on the untimely death of Monsie Halpin. Monsie was a native of Cahir and brought a love of all sports to this parish. During the late 70s Monsie served as a senior football selector at a time of great success in Galtee Rovers and his interest in Gaelic games was passed on to his three sons who played for the club over the years. On his daily bread run Monsie would talk sport with anybody he met on his travels and his passing leaves a void.

TIDY TOWNS

Our village is looking really well at the moment, well done to all who give of their time on a daily and weekly basis. Here’s hoping for a much improved result when the judges visit.
