ST PATRICK’S LADIES GAA CLUB
Our under 10 girls took part in their first round county under 10 blitz on Saturday morning past in Anner Park Cloneen. St. Patrick’s fielded two teams and Mullinahone were the only visitors, as Slievenamon were unable to field a team. In glorious sunshine, each team played two 20 minute matches and a great morning’s football and fun was enjoyed by all present.
The St. Patrick’s blue team were: Rachel O’Halloran, Ava Heffernan, Sarah Cranitch, Dearbhla Morrissey, Maria Hogan, Amy O’Connell, Aoibheann McGrath, Jessica Strappe, Aisling Boland and Eabha Fitzgerald and the St. Patrick’s red team players were: Heather Gahan, Rachel Butler, Eabha Hogan, Eimear Boland, Kelly Burgess, Katie McCormack, Isabelle Hayden, Robyn Horan, Siobhan O’Hanlon and Erín O’Brien. The next round will be held in a fortnight’s time.
The junior ladies are preparing for their first championship match which will now be against Clonmel Og this coming weekend. Exact details of the fixture not finalised as we go to print. Best of luck to all the junior ladies and management team of Michael, Pat, Helen and Trish for the upcoming championship.
FIONN MAC CUMHAILL PLAYERS
The Fionn Mac Cumhaill Players are planning a comedy at the end of the summer to cheer the people up in these depressing times. The comedy ‘Sex please we’re 60’ tells of a small bed and breakfast owner in her mid 50’s - her next door neighbour who is over 70 ‘Bud the stud’ (he considers himself to be the reason so many ladies over 50 visit the B&B) - and a local chemist who is trying out a new drug for women of a certain age - three menopausal ladies looking for love - definately a recipe for disaster - The group plan to stage this in August or September all going well - so watch out for more details.
CLONEEN SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUB
The new committee of Cloneen Sports and Social Club will hold a fundraiser on July 21 with a 70’s and 80’s disco (over 18’s). This is a fundraiser for works in progress to hall. Tickets for this event will be E10 and are on sale now from any of the members. We hope you will all support. We have also other fund raising ideas and hopefully the hall will be a hive of activity very shortly. The squash club will shortly be up and running. Booking of hall will be subject to certain fees and is as always available for kinds all events. We apologise for any inconvenience caused in closing bar for short time but hopefully all will be up and running shortly.
CLONMEL RIDING CLUB
The above club made up of members from Cloneen - Mullinahone - Drangan Fethard and surrounding areas of Clonmel will hold their first One Day Event in the beautiful grounds of Grove in Fethard on July 29. This will be sponsored by TRI Equestrain and is a qualifier for the nationals. The Green Horse competition and young horse will be sponsored by local sponsors. For those of you who are not familiar with one day events they consist of Dressage in morning followed by showjumping and the third part of the event is cross country which is probably what everyone goes to see. Many local riders will be taking part so if you would like a nice day out come along. We are also looking for volunteers for fence stewards and other jobs so if anyone would like to donate their Sunday let me know 0860834208.
