Child welfare and protection courses in Cashel and Clonmel

South Tipperary Sports Partnership will hold a ‘Child Welfare & Protection In Sport’ course on Monday, 24th September at 6pm in The Civic Offices, Cashel and a second course on Tuesday, 2nd October in LIT Tipperary, Clonmel.

South Tipperary Sports Partnership will hold a ‘Child Welfare & Protection In Sport’ course on Monday, 24th September at 6pm in The Civic Offices, Cashel and a second course on Tuesday, 2nd October in LIT Tipperary, Clonmel.

This 3 hour basic awareness course aims to create and maintain a safe and fun environment for young people within clubs.

The course covers topics such as awareness of child protection and welfare issues, policies and procedures for reporting suspected and disclosed abuse, the recruitment and management of leaders and volunteers, code of behaviour for leaders and volunteers and the ‘dos and don’ts’ for officials and personnel. The training is open to sports leaders, children’s officers and other adults involved in the organisation of sport for young people.

Places are limited and bookings will be on a first come first served basis. The cost of this course is €15 per person.
