TIDY TOWNS 2012

TIDY TOWNS 2012

Ballingarry Tidy Towns would like to thank all the volunteers who have helped with the planting of the trees on The Commons road. Hopefully next week the three picnic benches will be put at the front of the GAA Field and the two at the Old Graveyard.

The Christmas Lights were put up last Saturday, November 24. We had a huge turnout of volunteers, from the village and beyond, to help on the day, and many community members provided refreshments for the volunteers. A big thank you to all who helped in any way, especially Lilly for the hot cuppa, and Tommy for the use of his cherrypicker.

This year a large natural tree was planted at the Village Corner. This will act as our Christmas Tree for the duration of the festive season. Lights will be put on it at the weekend. As a remembrance to those who are not with us this Christmas each member of the community will be welcome to place a Red Bow on the Tree.

Fr. Quirke will bless the tree and the lights on Deemebr 8. Santa will turn on the lights. He will bring his mail box and all kids can give him their letters.

Music lessons have proven very popular with only a limited number of places available on our tin whistle, banjo, bodhran, guitar and accordion classes on Wednesday nights from 6.30pm to 9pm at a charge of €5 per class.

We would like to thank those people who have left in unwanted books to the school in order to develop a borrow and return for people interested in reading. If you have books to add to our collection we would really appreciate them.
