Local Nursing 2Home

Mass was offered in Bailey House Nursing Home recently as it was the start of the year 2013. Prayers are offered for all residents for good health and happiness and for matron and staff.

Pancake Night

Shrove Tuesday on Tuesday 12 February and it is custom to eat pancakes as it was the eve of Ash Wednesday which falls on Wednesday 13 February.

Senior Citizens

First meeting of club will be held on Wednesday 13 February. Mass will be celebrated at 3 pm and usual events will take place after mass. Welcome back to all members.

Garden Club

Garden Club – next meeting in Ardagh House on Tuesday 12 February at 8 pm. Speaker will attend. Welcome back to everyone and we will all look forward to getting back out to the garden for spring.

Ladies Soccer

The Underage programme is going very well on Saturday evenings, we had 24 girls in the 9 to 11 age group and 12 in the under 8 group, the Under 14 group has 12 but needs a few more to develop a squad.

The Senior Team recommence its training this Tues night to prepare for the long season ahead and with hard work and committment can retain some of last year’s trophies.

The under 18 team will play Waterford City this weekend looking for a win to hold top of the table although this will be a tough game and all players will need to be on form to take the points.

The Slieveardagh Lotto is held on Tuesday Nights, this week the Lotto will take place in Slieveardagh Cultural & Enterprise Centre. This week’s Prize Fund is €16,050.00 –
