Talent and culture was abundant at the Scór na bPáisti South Final took place in Cahir last Sunday.
Cahir was represented in figure dancing. A solo song was performed by Leah Murphy who won second prize for her rendition of “Carrigfergus”. Another solo song was performed by Dearbhla O’Brien, who sang another beautiful Irish song called “In my Father’s House”.
Instrumental Music was performed by Erin O’Regan on button accordion and Evin O’Regan on banjo. The Recitation category was wonderfully presented by Aoife Cashman who recited “If I Were a Lady” by Percy French. In the Question Time category Killian Halpin, Liam Hickey and Robert Kelly won third prize.
Five girls performed in the ballad group section singing “Fare thee well to Carlingford’. This group took first place which earns them a day out at the County Final to represent Cahir on February 17 in Cashel.
All of the participants put a huge effort into each performance and each one of them should be very proud of themselves in representing the Parish of Cahir.
