“Droopy’s Jim” wins Scully Cup

Knockgraffon Open Coursing Club ran a very successful two-day coursing meet on January 19 and 20.

Knockgraffon Open Coursing Club ran a very successful two-day coursing meet on January 19 and 20.

“Droopy’s Jim”, owned by Tomas O’Murchu, Tipperary Town won the Vincent Scully Memorial Cup by beating a very gallant runner-up in the final “Key Shore” owned by Mattie Ryan and Mrs E. Smith.

The Inter Club Stake comprising eight English and eight Irish dogs was won by the very popular “Don Corleone” owned by the “Cuirt on Phuca” syndicate from Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny. “Don Corleon” beat “Knockillon Sea” owned by Don Moloney, Knockgraffon.

Knockgraffon Open Coursing Club thank everyone who helped in any way to make the weekend a great success.

The Club especially thanks Pat English and South Tipperay Co. Council, who did a great job at such short notice.

Thanks also to the landowners, the faithful beaters who come out Sunday after Sunday to help the Club and the kind neighbours, who provided car park facilities.
